Amanda’s Chronicles

Amanda is a 14-year-old girl who is struggling to find her way in life amidst a background of abuse and neglect. With a father who has been incarcerated for most of her young life and a mother who is hopelessly addicted to drugs, Amanda is lured into running heroin for the local gang, attracted by the promise of easy cash.

Soon, however, she is tempted to try the drugs for herself and before she knows it she is completely hooked. Worse, the money she had been secretly saving for her college fund is discovered and stolen by her chaotic mother.

Hopelessly out of her depth and knowing that she must change before she loses everything, Amanda enters rehab, focusing on music as therapy to wean her off the drugs. Even here, however, as she begins to rebuild her shattered life, there are dangers. Larry, the man who should be supervising her, is in fact preying on her vulnerability and she now faces a new threat to her happiness.

But there is someone who has been watching Amanda closely for some time. He is familiar to her in a way she doesn’t recognize and he may well be the person who can rescue her from all her demons.

Who is this stranger with the musical gift? And is he the answer to her prayers?
